WHAT WE DO

At Odd One Out Films, our mission is to develop powerful, unique, genre-bending content no matter the budget. With young, up-and-coming creatives, we produce work that stands apart. In an industry that tends to favor the status quo, we are not afraid to be the ODD ONE OUT.

WHO WE ARE

Hi! We are Gabby and Maria Paula. Friends turned collaborators who share a passion for telling stories that are unique and fresh.

  • CO-FOUNDER

Gabby Fiszman is a writer, director, and producer whose upbringing was just as eclectic as her storytelling. As a first-generation American raised by Brazilian immigrants in California, Maryland, Tennessee, and Florida, Gabby encountered a wide range of cultures and individuals, which exposed her to diverse perspectives and instilled in her a deep sense of compassion — both of which were crucial in her path to become a storyteller.

She is based in Los Angeles, where she graduated from the USC School of Cinematic Arts with a BFA in Film and Television Production. In her writing, Gabby loves combining genres and using comedy to reflect the absurdity of the world around her. With the backing of Decentralized Pictures, she is currently in post-production for Holy Smokes, a proof-of-concept stoner comedy she co-wrote/co-directed, after winning the Kevin Smith Comedy Screenplay award.

Gabby is inspired by unique stories that are not afraid to comment on the state of our world. She’s trilingual (Portuguese and French) but learning even more languages so that she can tell stories across the globe, a reflection of her experience growing up in a multicultural home.
